INTERVIEW details:

We arrived at the US Consulate about 530am and there were already 20 people lined up in 2 lines. The doors opened about 630am. After the security check we went straight into the double doors and stood in front of window #5 (we were 3rd in line). At about 645am, a Thai lady started to collect the visa applications. She took from us:

PO receipt (it has Poc\'s name on both receipts)
Passport
Birth Certificate (not translated)It was not the original, therefore the lady asked for her Thai ID and also House Registration (tabian Baan, also not translated)
DS-156 (2 copies but she returned one copy)
DS-156K
DS-156 BNK Supplement
DS-157
Police Certificate
Medical Exam/vaccination envelopes/documents, etc.
I-134 with supporting documents (letter from work w/business card of my boss attached, last 3 paycheck, 2003 W2 and Tax Transcripts, 2004 3rd QTR 401K statement, 2004 bank statements for savings acct)

We also gave her two 2x2 photos but the lady also returned it saying they already have the photos (I assume from the time Poc turned in the DS-230). Then after reviewing the documents the lady asked for Proof of relationship, we gave her about 20 photos, 8 emails, and photo copies of my flight stubs from the times I visited Poc.

At around 840am Poc was called up to window 7. We were interviewed by a falang male-very nice and professional guy, he asked Poc 2 questions in Thai:

Have you married before?
Do you have any children?

Then he asked me 6 questions:

Am I George?
Have I married before?
How did we meet?
Who introduced us?
How many times have I come and visited Poc?
Where do you work?

He returned all the proof of relations stuff, house registration and Thai ID and handed Poc a white card and said Jan 18th come back by 3pm to pick up Visa. 9am, we were in a taxi headed back to the hotel for some well needed rest.

Comments : I went with Poc into the Visitor line, and there was no wait. We were processed by a young female officer who was friendly and efficient. She asked me where I worked and asked Poc if she can speak english (a littung bit,Poc said). The officer tore open the brown envelope and I could see the contents were all the paperwork I had turned into CSC and also the day of the interview. After flapping thru the paperwork, the officer took fingerprints and a photo of Poc, reminded us to get married within 90 days and congratulated both of us. After we grabbed our bags, we lined up for customs inspection. The customs officer asked us how much US Dollars we had total. Then he asked if we had any food (only some cashews) and that was it, we did not need to go thru customs inspection!! Took about 15-20 minutes.

Comments : Have all the paperwork listed in the AOS appointment letter, some photos, and copies of all original documents. The AOS officer only took my current work letter and proof of relationship: joint bank account, medical and dental papers, I had photos but she said that was enough. Our appointment was at 800am and we were out the USCIS doorway by 815am.

Details:

We arrived at USCIS San Francisco Office on 630 Sansome Street at about 7am. There were 2 people going in for US Citizenship in front of us outside. A security gaurd checked our appt letter let us in. After we passed thru security, we headed for the 2nd floor and went to the AOS reception desk. A lady there took our appt letter ,then told us to wait at area B. At about 805am, over the intercom, a female voice called out my wife\'s name to come to door B.

There at the door, we were met by the USCIS Adjudicator, Ms Peterson. She was straight business like, with minimal chit-chat. We were sworn in then were seated. She asked for Pocky\'s passport and removed the I-94 card. She only asked to see my CA DL and then proceeded with verifying some information on the I-485 application (Name, DOB, SS #, home address and home phone number) . She asked my wife several questions: how many times she was married, what date WE were married, did she have any children and 2 of those questions from the I-485 one w/terrorist & the other w/fraudulent activities). Ms Peterson asked me a couple of questions: how many times I have been married, do I have any children, have I met Pocky\'s parents, what are their names. She only asked for my employer\'s letter and proof of relationship, of which I provided bank checking acct & credit card statements with our names, dental & medical benefits with her name on it and I was prepared to give her some photos but she said that was enough. ( I did bring MOST of what was listed on the I-485 appointment letter)

She then proceeded to explain about the I-751 form in 2 years ( 90 days before the 2 yr anniversary) while at the same time stamping Pocky\'s passport with the RED INK w I-551, employment authorized, etc statement. She also mentioned after 3 years from today, Pocky can apply to get naturalized!!And that was it!! Ms Petersen then turned over to her PC to click on something then said \"OK, congratulations & have a nice day!!\" We returned her well wishes and walked out the door.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
