Comments : The Cyprus embassy staff was extremely helpful and nice throughout the process. I had emailed to request an appointment rescheduling due to prearranged travels and was able to reschedule as soon as the Embassy received the immigrant package from the NVC (it took about 8 calendar days from NVC to Embassy). They actually gave me a courtesy phonecall to inform me that they had received the package so that I could reschedule.

On the day of the interview (8am) I arrived at 7.30am and was waiting outside the building. No other applicants were around as the Immigrant visa appointments are held on different days than non-immigrant visas. At 8am I was called by the security staff and they went throroughly through all the documentation I had with me. The medical exam sealed envelope was opened by security staff at the time (I was worried that by opening it I might have issues but no issues whatsoever). After passing through an airport security-like chamber, I was escorted to the location of the interview and picked a number. When my name was called I went to the first counter where an embassy staff member went through all the file and requested the original documents (birth certificate, marriage certificate and police record). I also provided copies at that time as requested however, since we had submitted the copies with the NVC submission they were returned to me. I was asked a few relationship questions (where did you meet, when did you meet, are you happy to go back) as well as my past visas (I was a student in the US) and then I was told to sit and wait. After a couple minutes, another officer called me and instructed me to the oath that everything is true. I was asked a couple of more questions regarding our relationship and then I was informed that I was approved. The visa was issued the next business day and then I had to physically pick it up (by entering the embassy in the same manner).
Overall a very good experience everyone was courteous and it was a smooth process at the embassy stage.

Embassy Review : The Cyprus embassy staff was extremely helpful and nice throughout the process. I had emailed to request an appointment rescheduling due to prearranged travels and was able to reschedule as soon as the Embassy received the immigrant package from the NVC.
The actual interview was very quick as all documentation provided were OK and the visa was issued the next business day. I had to physically pick it up and it took about 20 minutes.
Rating : Very Good

Event Description
Entry Date : 2017-06-14
Embassy Review : Flew in in the morning by myself and husband was waiting for me outside. I was told to go through the visitor line (common with first visa/first ESTA line). The line was very long it took me about 40 minutes to get to an agent. I handed over the yellow envelope, passport and customs form. The agent asked how long we've been married, obtained fingerprints (digital) and a picture and then escorted me to secondary inspection. There the agent gave my file and passport/customs form to another agent and then I waited 30 minutes until they called my name. My passport was stamped on the page opposite the visa, not on the visa but our lawyer says it should be ok. My bags were the last ones on the carousel so that easy!
Overall, no hassle just time consuming between the steps.
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
