Local US CIS Office Review: Chicago IL

Event Description
Review Date : May 30, 2017
Embassy Review : I had my AOS interview today at the Chicago office. The experience was great from the time we entered the office. The security guard on the 2nd floor had an awesome sense of humor. The interview itself was pretty straightforward. The officer was an older lady and she took our oath, checked IDs and actually ended up speaking to my wife more since she is a doctor. The only questions she asked me were how we met and the standard questions from the I-485. She took some photos and joint credit card statement. Then she proceeded to let us know about the 2 year removal of conditions process and that I'd be eligible for citizenship in 3 years. Overall a great experience. We didn't have an attorney with us since there were no concerns with our case, and that may have helped with keeping the discussion a little more informal.
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
