Comments : Finally caught a break and beat the 4 month longer delay that we were expecting. USCIS apparently paid some 65 year old retiree to fill out case in a backpack and walk it to the NVC. In the world of fedex, UPS and even overnight delivery with the post office and not to mention the symbiotic relationship between the govt and the post office you’d think they have some arrangement to quickly ship these files. Especially after letting them sit for 8+ months. But alas, no. That’s too logical.

Comments : over due, but since we've filed for her N400, they have combined the two packages together. (supposedly).

So damn nice of USCIS to inform us that after the second (24mos) extension ends, they won't inform us (I-797) that a further extension isn't provided even though their own website states 80% of cases are taking 30 mos. (Broken sys)

No I-797 to tell us we need to do something else (I-551 stamp appt submission). (Broken sys)

Event Description

Embassy Review : Process was quick and orderly once you actually make it inside of the facility.
Very short wait to get biometrics completed, 5 mins or so.
Very short wait to get in to see the Immigration Agent , 5 mins or so.

Agent was friendly and allowed me to join my wife, the applicant.
Agent asked my wife if she'd been studying for her civics test, which she had.
After about 15 questions or so, Agent informed my wife she had passed her test.

I mentioned that we had two outstanding I-130's for her minor children, and we had requested an expedite due to one of them potentially aging out soon. The Agent took their receipt numbers, said she would pull their files and assign them to her and she would approve them. By the early the next day we got confirmation that both I-130's and her N-400 had been approved.

Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
