Embassy Review : My husband (German National) and I have known each other since we were basically kids. No criminal record of ANY kind on either end, in fact we BOTH cleared Homeland Security/FBI/Interpol in 48 hours. We submitted everything on time, with ample evidence, more evidence than they requested, but I wanted to cover by bases.

From the get-go with USCIS it has been nothing but mistakes on their end, them losing paperwork, being incompetent and the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing, always excuses and zero accountability.

Our AOS Interview was scheduled 2.5 years AFTER we filed. We arrived 30 minutes early, and were called in an hour after the scheduled appointment time. The Immigration Officer (BYRNE) was a total a**. He was clearly in a very bad mood, and hates his job. He also looks like he should have retired 30 years ago.

He makes a comment about how thick our file is, and I responded with "well I wanted all my bases covered...." and he comments that he guesses we must have had a little bit of difficulty along the way, and I let him know that was a gross understatement. He then proceeds to direct a barrage of terrorism/Nazi questions towards my husband - reading the questions off of a list that my husband had filled out over 2 years ago, and when my husband answers, Byrne puts a red checkmark over my husband's original checkmark. Byrne could tell I was getting annoyed so he explained "I know this seems redundant but your husband is from Germany, and we just had to deport someone for being a Nazi so we have to be sure". I advised him "I am well aware of that subject, and he was a 95 years old Nazi FROM POLAND. My husband is clearly not old enough to have ever been a Nazi, and the area of Germany he is from is a tiny town in North Germany that was completely unaffected by the Nazi regime. However if Nazis are your concern, you may want to redirect those questions at me, his wife, my family is from Nürnberg, so you do the math". He then chilled out on the Nazi tirade, but continued asking terrorism affiliation questions.

AT NO POINT during this interview did he ask ANYTHING about our relationship, not one question.

He then said something with medical being missing. I then said "yes, our lawyer mentioned you may need to redo the Biometric, so that is fine". He then said there was no need to redo the biometric, and said that there was no proof that my husband had ever been tested negative for gonnorhea. I started laughing because I legitimately thought he was joking because he could tell I was getting pissed so wanted to lighten the mood. Nope, he was dead serious. I advised him that our family Dr is an Embassy appointed Civil Surgeon who does Immigration exams on a regular basis, and I knew he had been tested for it. They did TB, x-rays for Tuberculosis, bloodwork and urine including checking for all STD's. He said he could not see any proof of it and said he had to deny the green card. i asked why after the 2.5 years they had our file had we gotten no RFE for this, like we had gotten for other things that we HAD submitted...he had no answer for that of course.

This morning I contacted our Dr. They double checked and HAD done all required testing, including the gonnorhea one that Bryne is accusing us of not having had done. So tomorrow I am picking up that record from the Dr, including a written letter from the Dr letting USCIS know that this HAD been done already, correctly, and submitted in the sealed envelope to them. So yet another thing USCIS has lost with our case.

So once I get this mess taken care of, thanks to USCIS being slow and lazy and dragging a** with our file, we no longer get a conditional green card, with having to file for Removal of Conditions. But first I have to clean this mess up. I totally understand why people come into this country illegally now - going through the process like we have with nothing but back to back mistakes 100% on USCIS end and they won't own up to it is a huge hassle and pain in the a**.
Harassment Level : Very Poor

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
