Local US CIS Office Review: New York City NY
Review Topic: cis_topic
Event Description
Review Date : April 4, 2017
Embassy Review : Our appointment was at 11:30am. We got there early at 10:30am.
With security and check in, we were seated by 10:45am. There were about 8-9 group of people in the room waiting.

We got called in at around 12:20 and were done by 12:30. It was nice and quick, nothing stressful.
The officer had us sworn and then seated. She asked for current address, passports, driving license, marriage certificates.
Also she needed the rental lease form us to show the address.
She then asked if we have any joint documents to show.
We gave her credit card statements, joint banking statement, AT&T bills, Verizon bills. She took about 1 or 2 from each stacks.
I have another stack of documents in front of me and she asked is that medical insurance. I said yes and she took it.
Then she said: you can keep the rest. I didn't even get a chance to show our our auto lease, auto insurance etc.
She then asked me a bunch of "you are suppose to say no" questions - such as have you had criminal background, terrorist, drug addict etc.

She then said: you are granted only with the conditional green card, don't forget to apply for the permanent 90days before your current card expires. I don't need to see you photos since you have a lot of documents. You can grab your bags and come with me when you are ready.

We left the building at 12:38. Thank God this is over!!

Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
