Consulate Review: Singapore Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa Event Description Review Date : October 29, 2016 Embassy Review : I am a Filipino citizen based in Singapore. I had my IR-1 visa interview on 19 October and the whole process took about an hour (waiting time included). The experience was easy and straightforward. First counter (documents were checked in the ff order): 1) Passport 2) Birth certificate 3) Marriage certificate 4) Police certificates: Philippines (NBI) and Singapore 5) CENOMAR –This can be requested online and must be sent by PSA directly to US embassy Singapore. Courier options: Philpost (6-8 weeks) or Fedex (very fast) 6) Certificate copy of Marriage Record from the ROM - This can be applied online and can be delivered to the applicant or directly to the US embassy in 1-2 working days. Applicants who have never been married in SG would receive a certificate stating that ‘No record is found’. 7) 2 passport photos * An online profile registration with Aramex (courier agent) Questions asked: What is your status in Singapore? Were either you or your spouse previously married? Do either of you have any children? What does your spouse do? Interview with CO: *Fingerprints were taken after confirming that it was me in the passport* How long have you been together? When did you get married? Where did you live after you got married? When was the last time you saw each other? I wasn’t asked to show additional documents nor any evidence of our relationship. But as I’ve learned in VJ conversations, it is always wise to be prepared. Before I left, I was told that our documents were good and to expect a visa to be issued soon. I received my immigrant visa on 28 October. Cheers and good luck! POE Review: Honolulu Event Description Entry Date : 2016-11-24 Embassy Review : Arriving Honolulu at seven plus in the morning, passengers were shuttled to the immigration area, where there is a designated section for First Time Immigrants. The airport staff who assisted me until we approached the immigration officer was very helpful and cheerful. Since I was the only first time immigrant in that United Airlines flight from Narita, I didn’t have to wait. After the immigration officer ripped open the sealed packet, flipped through the documents, entered some info in the computer, stamped IR-1 visa in my passport, he warmly welcomed me to the USA.
