Here is the experience I had with my interview in Bucharest on November 7th. First I want you to know that everything went well and, as long as you have all the papers you need, there is nothing you should worry about.
I had the medical exam a day before the interview (I'm not from Bucharest)at Unirea medical center which is very close to the Embassy on Batistei Street, in a tall building, on the left on your way to the Embassy from Intercontinental Hotel. They give you the results the same day so I could have everything with me for the interview next day.
I got at the Embassy at 1pm and waited in a line till there came a guardian with a list and called some names. Unfortunatelly, mine was not on the list so I needed to go to the main gate and ask another guardian about this. He told me there was a mistake, that I was actually on the list and asked me to get inside (there were 4 other people in the same situation) I got through the security check, they asked me to leave my bag and the cell phone and I was allowed to take only the papers and files with me inside the room where the interview was. It was about 1:30 when I got in and in less than 10 minutes I heard my name called for the first time. There was a Romanian guy at the office 4 who took all my papers one by one and then asked me to take a sit and wait. Which I did but not for long because soon after I was again asked to go and pay the 100$. Then they took my fingerprints and I got back and waited for another 15 minutes. As I was sitting there I could see a lady watching what I recognized to be my pictures and in quite a short time I was called again at the office 5 this time and I started the interview. She was very polite, asked me how was I and then asked me to raise my right hand and swear the information in the documents (I had filled) was true. Which I did. Then there were the following questions:
How did you meet your fiance?
How did your relationship progressed?
What does he work?
What do you intend to do (in terms of working) when you get into the States?
Who is ...(she asked about my cat's name)?
And that was it! She told me everything was OK with my documents, she congratulated me and wished me good luck. Then she asked me to take a sit again and wait for my passport with my visa issued on it.
Well, this was, probably, the longest part of the entire process inside the Embassy because I had to wait for more than an hour till I got the passport back together with the yellow, sealed envelope.
It was a positive experience and everyone there was nice and polite.
I was out of the Embassy at about 4pm.
