Comments : I left Brazil on a Overnight Flight from Copa (Belo Horizonte - Boston - 1 stop: Panama) My Fiance was waiting for me in Panama ...he wanted to enter the USA with me. Arriving in Boston we waited at the Non Citizen line because they did not allow me to go to the Citizen line with him...when we got called the Officer took the package and after checking it he started with some questions ...such as: If I ever broke any Law enforcement ?!! Neither of us clearly understood the question ....trying to make himself clear he asked if I ever been arrested or had handcuffs on me before ...well I answered NO because none of those things ever happened to me ... not knowing that my answer should have been YES because in the past I was denied entry in US and my fingerprints were taken .. After answering it wrong (not knowing) he told us to wait aside that another officer was coming to take us down to the inspection office. After sitting down for about 2 hours and a half they called us and started making question ...when he made the same question about the Law enforcement again something clicked on my mind and then I decided to tell him what happened in the past and if my answer should be YES to that question instead of No ...the Officer than understood that my answer had been NO previously because I did not understand what they were meaning and not because I was lying to them.... he explained that since my fingerprints were taken during the denial entry in 2006 that YES that was considerate a problem with law enforcement and that from now on if asked my answer needed to be YES. After having everything clarified he than stamped my passport and said we could go ... but he forgot to give us the customs form back and when we were about to finally walk out another officer told us to wait again (this time outside the little office) because we needed to return that form on our way out and he was going to find who kept our forms ... After more than an hour he came back full of attitude towards my fiance asking him why he flew a day before to Panama just to pick me up... that the fact he was with me it didn't mean anything and if they wanted to send me back they could even with the K1 Visa ( I almost started crying ) when I looked at my Fiance he was blushed with anger and he answered in a very polite but serious voice: I never went there to pick her thinking she could or could not be denied entry in the USA ...I went to pick her so she could feel Welcome at her new home and support on this very special but hard moment...that she had to choose me over her family...friends and country ... when I looked at the Officer he was speechless and shame ...I guess he realized that his attitude and lack of respect did not make Chris happy ..and to cool things up he complemented Chris saying that was nice of him ...he than gave us the form he got inside the inspection office with the first Officer we spoke ...he reminded us we needed to get married within 90 days and said we could go .......AFTER 4 LONG HOURS - arrived at 6 pm got released at 10:15pm ...I was finally out those doors ...Outside Chris pranked his parents saying I did not make it ( they were outside since 5:45 pm but it was April fools bahahahahhahaha) My Mother in law was crying already cause it took us so long ...she bursts into tears really thinking I did not make it ....but after a minute I walked out and when she saw me she yelled so loud ( letting everyone wondering why ...lol of all that scene).

It was a very nerve-racking reception by the border officers but after all what really mattered to me was finally be with my Love.

Comments : Arrived at Bedford - NH Office 15 minutes before ...after all the security procedure went to the second floor where the interview takes place. The room seems like a waiting room at the doctors office with a little glass window with a sign saying you should place you interview letter there and that someone would call us.After 10 minutes a young lady came by grabbed our paper and checked our names and told us the Officer would call us shortly ... after 15 minutes a lady opened the door and exclaimed our last name .. both of us jumped from the chair with a smile on our faces .. but mine disappeared in a second when she told me she would start with my husband only and that I could take my seat back ...( lol why everything seems so hard lol) ....well ... inside she asked my husband when I arrived...when did we get married ... saw our marriage album .. asked about our house... how many rooms...bathrooms and what color were the shower curtains lol ...( my husband after told me I would never say the same colors as he did bahahahahahahaha).... it seemed a lifetime those 10 minutes from outside but she finally came back and invited me in ...apologized for the wait because she took a few minutes looking at our beautiful pictures ....and made a comment that we have babies face. First thing I noticed was the 3 inches file she had in front of her lol she made me swear I would say only the truth and checked all my information to make sure there was not any wrong dates or spelling... asked when I arrived ...when we got married and where ...asked Chris's full name and date of birth ..and if I had any documents - proof of relationship other than the ones Chris had given her ( car insurance, life/dental and health insurance, Purchase Agreement of our new house) ...so I told her all I had left was the letters from my mother in law and our psychologist ( she looked at me weird - wondering why we had a couple psychologist) I than explained that during the process of the K1 Visa Chris was diagnosed with Oral Cancer(stage1) and even being a Cancer Free now he was still overcoming his anxiety and trauma of it ....so in order to support him and better know how to help him I also attended a few sections ....and that when we told our psychologist about the interview she wanted to write something about us ...the Officer took the letters and looked at us like if she couldn't believe all of that happened she than changed all her questions towards that subject and never asked me anything about our house or any other questions she made Chris... she told me everything seemed fine and she was going to suggest my GC for approval and I should expect it within 14 days or so ...she wished us lots of happiness on our new house and good health for us :) .
Despite separating us at first she was everything I asked God for ...she was nice ..polite and made us feel comfortable ...Didn't feel anxious or intimidated at all .My GC arrived a day after Christmas.

Embassy Review : Our interview took place in Rio on march 7th at 8:20am. Chris and I arrived around 8am (Yes, Chris came cause he wanted to be present in every step of this process with me and I loved it cause it kept me calmed) we told the security guard (wearing a blue and black uniform) that we were there for a K1 interview and he immediately called a girl from the inside to check our paperwork and allow us in. Inside we placed our backpack at the XRay machine and went thru those metal detector just like we usually do at the airports (Its not allowed eletronics so don't bring them but if in case you can't leave it there are some people that hold them to you outside (not an embassy service) they charge for the service and if I am not too wrong it's something aroun R$10,00 per item). The K1 interview in Rio happens at the secong floor so after a few steps we saw a guys wearing a red uniform (I was so happy thinking that was the famous Alex but to my surprise Alex on that day was working at the tourist visa area so Leandro was the one that gave us the instructions instead). He gave me a paper to put my infos such as address where I was staying in Rio, my address in Brazil, my address to be in the US, Chris and my email and a checklist paper to place our paperwork exactly like it was showing after we finished he just double checked and told us to wait at the first row. We barely sat there and we heard NNNEXXXTTT...omg I felt my heart skip a beat ..but it was only a very polite Brazilian Lady calling to get my finger prints and check our paperwork once again. I noticed at this time that she grabbed a huge pink file added the I134 form into it all Chris's stuffs(bank statments, W2,Tax returns...) and stapled the DS160 confirmation page and my pictures at the covers she also checked my full name, place I was borned and city I live in Brazil she than gave a paper talking pretty much about Domestic violence and contacts of whon we should call in case that happens with us after we get in the USA after that she told us to sit at the second row and wait for our interview. There were some people waiting already and we were the last ones to be called at 9:10am. Next thing I heard was my name and while I was walking in the booth I saw this very polite Consulate around her 35ish years old with a smile saying good morning! She asked if I wanted to speak in English or Portuguese and I choosed English so Chris could understand the interview, next was the sworn I would say only the truth and the very first question was if we never got married before, that we both answered together with a big fat NO and she laughed at it. Next question was directed to me (I lived in the US with a B1 visa when I was a teenager for 4 years, reason why I had a BAN that actually expired in 2015) She asked me to explain how did that happend,If I came back to Brazil deported or because I wanted to (I didn't get deported).I felt she wanted to make sure I wasn't going to lie about anything since I just had sworned a few minuts before I wouldn't. After all the truth been said she looked at us and told me she was going to return my two old passports but that she was going to keep the valid one because we were APPROVVVEDDDD !!!! She also said Congradulations and wished us both happiness ...After that Chris gave me a big hug and we both wished her a good day at work ...we walked out the embassy like if we were stepping in the clouds with a big smile on our faces and looking foward to start our lives together soon!! She said my passport will take around 3 weeks to arrived and I will pick it up at the BH-CASV !!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
