Consulate Review: Mumbai, India
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : July 7, 2017
Embassy Review : My interview was scheduled for June 30 (Friday) at 7.30 am. I reached the embassy by 6.30 am and I was asked to wait outside by the security guard. They started letting us in at 7.15 am. I was in the first batch to enter. They asked us to show our interview letter and passport at the entrance. After the security check, I was given a token number and was asked to wait. About an hour later, my token number was called and my original documents were verified. The officer who verified my documents asked me the following questions
1. Whether it's my first time visiting US.
2. Have I visited any other country ?
3. Who's calling you?
They gave me a pamphlet with domestic violence information and told me to wait until my name was called. After an hour, I was called for the interview. The consulate officer asked me the following questions
1. Who's calling you?
2. How did I meet my husband? Our common relatives?
3. What is he doing in US?
4. Where does he work?
5. When did he go to US and how?
6. About his parents?
7. How many people attended our wedding?
That's it. After entering some details into the computer, the officer said that my Visa was approved and asked me to pay the fee online before entering US. The passport with the visa stamp was then later collected from COCHIN.javascript:emoticon('')

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
