Consulate Review: Malaysia
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 10, 2017
Embassy Review : I had my interview on 9 March 2017. Yes.. it a nerve wrecking thingy. 😅😅😅. Especially while waiting to be called in the hall. It does gives me hibbies jibbies all the way.
Looking at the crowd, i can say not many people applying for k1 visa in Malaysia. Unlike before, when I came for a tourist visa. Long queue, so to speak.
As what my fiance said, not many people as crazy as us here. 😆
It went pretty smooth. I waited about one hour before my number being called.
At the window, the officer start with the oath and asked me to answer yes or no.
Then the interview starts. Most of the questions asked are pretty much from what we have rehearsed. But yeah... i got nervous at the very beginning till I didnt even know what the heck I'm talking about. She got confused and she needs to repeat it few times.
After a while, I finally manage to get my momentum back. Trying to cool down and answer her confidently.
Questions she asked as below :-
1. How do i know my fiancee
2. What happened to his/ my previous marriage.
3. When did he proposed
4. When do u plan to get married
5. How many children your fiance has from his previous marriage
6. Did he sent engagement ring to u

She took my daughter custodian court order and examine it.
"So, her dad never attended the hearing, huh?"
Yeah, I said. Never.

And it took me less than 10mins. I guess. But i feel like it one heckuva long time in there!!
Next she said my visa is approved. They will hold my passport and deliver it back to me in a week. I was so excited and I asked her again, is it approved? Really? She nodded and smile (finally see her smile). Congratulation..she said.

I almost wanna cry the moment she said that. I would've hug her if its not becoz of the window that separate us. Lol!

Anyway, i am glad its almost over. Now is the time to start thinking and planning, what to bring to US.

Kudoss to US embassy in KL. I must say they are very proffesional.
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
