Comments : This was a horrible experience with the Egyptian Embassy. They kept us waiting for months for the interview date, and when it was given, we were given about a week to prepare for it. After the interview they kept us waiting for almost a year! The only reason I think it wasn't longer was because we got tired of waiting, and finally hired a lawyer. My advice to anyone else dealing with Egypt is do not mess around! GET A LAWYER FROM THE START! DO NOT ATTEMPT YOURSELF!

Embassy Review : Was a horrible experience for us. First they gave us less then a weeks time to prepare, and we were scrambling to get all the paperwork together in time. When she finally went to the interview, she was questioned for hours about our relationship, and they finally put our case under review simple because the location of when I proposed to her was different from what I said. I said I proposed at the Pyramids, and she said while we were on a nile cruise... the only problem was that both were done on the same day, and the cruise was right after we went to the pyramids.

Anyway, they kept us without a response for 8 months, and did nothing with our case until we got fed up and hired a lawyer. Within three weeks of us filing for him to represent us, Rania got a call from the Embassy with more questions, mainly doubting that her parents were okay with our marriage, until they called her mother and spoke with her. Three weeks later, we finally get a call asking for her to redo her medical exam, criminal record, and send her passport to them and they were approving our visa. We haven't recieved it yet, but it appears as if after waiting for 2 years, we are finally going to be married!

My advice to you is do NOT attempt to deal with the Embassy in Egypt alone. You will have a horrible experience.
Rating : Very Poor

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
