Biometrics Taken : Yes
Harassment Level : 5
Comments : Crossed on a busy Sunday when there was a lot of traffic through the Blaine/Peace Arch Crossing. Mostly a smooth process, although the agents couldn't understand or appreciate that our mailing address is separate from our physical address; mailing is a PO Box because USPS doesn't do any door-to-door delivery where we live (Tahoe City).
Other than that it was smooth - except for the fact that while I was being processed there were two high-risk arrests made of several men trying to drive into the US. Their arrests did delay the processing of the rest of us in line a considerable amount.

Comments : Initially filed from Tahoe City CA (Sacramento CIS Office) and were given an interview in SAC on August 24th. We moved to Oakland so the initial interview was cancelled and rebooked for September 8th in San Francisco.

The interview was an hour long, and even in being confident in our relationship and adherence to the rules, the interviewer lady had me doubting myself. Many detailed questions about jobs for both of us, where we've lived, how we allocate money to our joint bank accounts, if we've met eachother's families, etc. All valid questions, but we'd been left thinking that we hadn't submitted enough evidence and might need to deal with an RFE or 2nd interview. Fortunately it must have simply been pro-level interview skills, because we were approved that day!

Comments : USCIS applied my old biometrics data to this application rather than having me come in for an appointment, which I've assumed was related to Covid (this happened in May).

I had no communications from USCIS between the date they informed me they were using my old biometric data (5/13/20) and the date I was Approved (2/17/21).

I had no RFE's and no interview!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
