Consulate Review: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : October 13, 2015
Embassy Review : The process was very smooth and clear cut. WE arrived on the correct time and was taken in right away, You must leave your cell phone in your car because they no longer hold them for you at the front of the embassy with security. We were called fairly quickly and they took my husbands passport, told to have a seat. about 10 mins later we were called again. This time an Indian man interview us (I the petitioner attended the interview with my husband).
They asked us the very basic questions like do you have children together and how long you know each other and when you got married. They did try to trick us at this time with our marriage date (like they said you got married on Aug 4th right? which was not the date we got married September 7th.) so you must be careful when answering questions and pay attention to whats being asked. They then took finger prints and told us to sit and wait to be called again. after some time we were called again and an American man took my husbands oath, and asked some of the same questions again. Informed my husband of some of his rights in the US and gave him a pamphlet about Domestic Violence. Told us to go to the first window we went to. The Indian man said Congratulations you are approved and gave my husband information to get a waybill for SMSA and said we did not need to come back to pick up the visa that it will be mailed to us. We asked where to track the visa and was given the website.

The Indian man was very stern but professional and overall our experience is good and we got what we were hoping for. We spent about 2 hours from start to finish.

we got our visa in the mail about 10 days later
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
