Event Description
Review Date : March 21, 2016
Embassy Review : My fiance went with a packet I put together for him which included I-134 forms and supporting documents, plus evidence of our relationship such as pictures and receipts. The appointment was scheduled for 8:00 am at the embassy in Abu Dhabi. It seems all visa appointments are scheduled at this time. He arrived early, at around 7:00 am so he could get in line and take a number. The embassy officials sorted everyone into two lines: immigrant visa and non-immigrant visa. He was 10th in his line (immigrant visa for K1 fiance). When they let them in at 8, he waited awhile (about 2 hours I think). Then they called him, and he gave them his documents. They took his fingerprints and then told him to sit and wait again. He waited about 30 more minutes and was called for the interview with the agent. He said it lasted about 10 minutes. The woman asked about our relationship like how we met, when we saw each other, if we met each other's families, what our families thought of us. She also asked about my (the US sponsor) job. Luckily we had a co-sponsor lined up and included all those documents with the I-134 packet because she was going to not approve it yet if we didn't have a co-sponsor. But when she saw our co-sponsor she approved it right away. She collected all the documents they needed (they removed it all from the folder and prongs), and gave my fiance an appointment slip for exactly a week later, to come and collect his passport and visa.

Overall, very smooth!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
