Comments : very fast. they reviewed the packet provided from consulate and only asked if I'd been denied before which I had during this process to which I explained my case and it was fine. I was checked in and through customs in less than an hour. I would like to add a bit here to remind you to ask the CBP officer about you I94. My officer was not vocal at all! He asked if I had ever been denied entry and that was it. I had to remind him to take my xray results for my file. I received an arrival stamp in my passport and no other form of I94 nor was I given and direction as to whether I needed one. This has not seemed to matter until now. I have applied for my adjusment of status and they ask for you I94 record number which I cannot provide. I tried to get a USA driver license and they need my I94 record number. The staff at the motor registry provided me a website to look up my I94 record. I did this and nothing is found so I am not sure if the CBP officer even filed one for me. I have now completed a form I-102 requesting an I94, and I am waiting to here back form my AOS application to so what effect this may have on that process. So make sure you have this clear with you CBP upon entry!

Event Description

Embassy Review : I was very pleasantly surprised with the process at the Vancouver Consulate. My appointment was scheduled for 10 am. My fiance and I arrived at the consulate around 930 am. We were greeted by security staff outside the building, there were a few others in line as well. At this stage they ask why you are here and then you will need to provide them with you cnofirmation page of the DS-160 and your passport. If your USC petitioner accompanies you as they did me then they will be given your documents once reviewed. You will need to turn off your phone and give it to them and if you have a bag they will search it ask if you are carrying a list of security risk items and then you will be move on. You will then be escorted to a airport style scanner for a final security check. All personnel were incredibly friendly and polite. You are then escorted to floor where interview occurs. It is like a doctors waiting room. First you go to a counter and a lady will come to retrieve your documents. I had photocopies of passport, birth certificate, I-134 affidavit and supporting documents, police clearances which I provided. I recommend also ensuring you make copies of these items. Make sure to have original passport and birth certificate as well as copies. Once she processed these she gave us a number and we waited until we were called. The wait was about 45 min. When we were called to the counter the interviewer was smiley and courteous and thanked my fiance for making himself available. I believe they were quite happy he was there as it makes their job easier, so if you can I suggest trying to have the petitioner with you. He asked us some basic questions about how we met and a short synopsis of how we arrived where we are. Asked what my fiance did for a living and that was it, visa approved. We were both very delighted with the outcome and the service. As I had been denied at customs twice before this I was very nervous about encountering personalities similar to the CBP where they can be very discourteous and plain rude. If you have an interview coming up, just double check your documents, and relax. They are very nice people.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
