Event Description

Embassy Review : My fiance had an interview with her 3 year old little boy. She went to Guangzhou two days before the interview with her son and her mother. They stayed in the Quangji hotel, a walking distance of 20 minutes from the embassy. It was a nice hotel, very clean. On the day of the interview, she arrived one hour before her interview time. She stood in line and waited for the opening. Only my fiance and her son were allowed to enter the embassy and they went through a security check (no cellphone, belt and necklaces removed, no writing pens, etc.). Only paperwork is allowed and one's glasses. She was given a number and had to wait to be called for her interview (she was given priority since her son was with her).
The embassy employee only spoke Chinese to my fiance, although she was prepared to answer him in English.
She was asked about my name, my job, how we met, questions about my family, and our wedding plans. Her son wasn't asked any questions.
The inteviewer was very friendly, even with my fiance's son. The interview only lasted about 15 minutes. At the end of the interview, she was told that she "passed". She was very surprised and happy about this.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
