Initially got my biometrics appointment for 2/21. Since I was traveling I had to reschedule, which happened pretty quickly (3/5).
In Aug 2018, USCIS extended my temporary status for 18 months (i.e. until August 2019) due to delays in processing.
Received notice of approval on 2/25/19 and card came in the mail on 3/3/19! |

Interview at Boston USCIS office:
Walked in through security. No issues. Obtained a number from the front desk. Took a seat in the waiting area. Five minutes later, I was called to a counter where the person verified my information as entered in the application. Went back to waiting area.
Twenty minutes later, I got called to another window in the same area where I remained standing..took an oath to tell the truth...sat down. They asked me to read a sentence ("When is Columbus Day"), then write down on a digital screen, "Columbus Day is in October." Asked me about 10 questions from the 100 I memorized...I passed (10/10). Was then congratulated and told to go back and wait for an immigration officer to "interview" me.
Thirty minutes later, I was called into a door where an immigration officer (adjudicator) walked me to his office. He had my entire immigration file (about 5" thick) in front of him. He clicked away, asked me how long I was married, where I worked, where I went to school and then to sign a couple of things on a digital screen. 5 mins of pin-drop science later, he said, "your all set," printed a form and handed it to me, added to my binder on his desk, slapped it shut and then walked me out...I waited outside for another ten minutes after which a lady came out and called my name. She handed me my oath ceremony date/notice and reminded me to fill out the back of the notice before the ceremony. The oath ceremony was scheduled for 3 weeks later.
The end. |

Interview was at 9:30AM. Had to wait for about 20 mins before we were called in. Officer Bynum interviewed us. Took about 15 mins.
1) took the oath
2) went over the forms
3) asked basic questions of how we met
4) Saw some evidence- tax forms, marriage certificate (did not bother with everything that I got so I guess I was over perpared)
5) I asked him if he was sure he didn't want to see pics. He ended up saying "okay, since u asked...lets have a look"
6) approved us on the spot and told us about the restrictions that we have to remove in 2 years.
The End.
Over all a good experience. Really nothing to worry about if you have all the evidence lined up and you are honest. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
