Consulate Review: Sydney, Australia
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 20, 2015
Embassy Review : Straightforward, my appointment was for 9:15, I went in early(7:45) and was asked to come back at 8:45, which was ok, there are some comfy lounge chairs just outside the security entrance you can relax on.

When I went back they screen, keep your phone, laptop and all cords etc, then you hand your paperwork to one of the ladies who sort through and take what They feel you need and put together a 'package' for you to hand in... They actually missed one piece of paperwork and later I was called back to provide, but was not an issue.

You go up to 59th floor, take a 'visa' ticket, wait for your number to be called. There were about 10 people in there, but they were getting through them quite quickly. I was called up to first window, all my papers taken by a Very friendly lady CSO and then back to wait for interview.

Interview went well... How did you meet? (I covered all aspects so he didn't need to ask any further questions 8-) ) Then he said Approved, your visa should be printed today, sent via courier Monday and you will get your passport and sealed package. Check your visa details are correct and you are free to come.

My only negative was when the girls in security area were sorting through the paperwork they weren't thorough in making sure all my documents were in the package they put together. They also couldn't agree on whether they were meant to include the Usc's divorce decree or not. They did not include my children's birth certificates, which I was told I would also be required to provide, as this is K1 only is not an issue

POE Review: Los Angeles
Event Description
Entry Date : 2016-01-19
Embassy Review : This was by far the easiest part of the whole process for me. I chose to travel in on the earliest flight on a Tuesday as that seems to be the quietest day of the week for the CBP people.

Gave my sealed envelope and passport, he ripped the envelope open, asked how we met, when we were getting married and then said have a good day. Couldn't get much easier than that
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
