POE Review: Washington DC
Event Description
Entry Date : 2016-09-01
Embassy Review : (Waited about an hour and a half in a line of about 60 people being processed by two to three agents.)

Agent: What's your relationship? (Noting us coming up to the counter together.)

Me: Fiancee.

Agent: Okay. Please take off the neck pillow and sunglasses. (For the photo.)
(Scans fingerprints, takes picture. Draws a line through Fiancee's K1 visa with pen, takes paperwork and thumbs through it, stamps date 3 months out in passport. Looks over our declaration forms.)

Agent: What agricultural products are you bringing with you?

Me: Peppercorns and tea.

Agent: That's all?

Me: Yes. (Agent throws away one of our customs declaration forms.)

Agent: Ok. (Motions us through.)

(We were exhausted after 30 hours of flying, but this was very good compared with what I'd read to expect. )
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
