Local US CIS Office Review: Philadelphia PA
Review Topic: cis_topic
Event Description
Review Date : April 30, 2015
Embassy Review : our interview was at 1:15pm, me and my husband got there at 12:45pm but didn't give the notice to the lady her because we were waiting for my attorney, she told us to wait until she was there ...we gave them the notice at 1:14pm (my attorney was running late thanks to amazing traffic in philly) and waited for about 30 min when my name was called by a female officer, as soon as I saw her I was intimidated, she didn't even say hi or whatever to us (officer A. Knox) ...when we got to her office she told my attorney to ger ready to translate, my attorney nicely told her she wasn't there to translate and the officer just told us to stand up then and swore us in, then told us to have a sit and asked me for my original birth certificate, my husband's naturalization certificate, our marriage certificate, my divorce decree and birth certificates of both my girls but then gave me back the one from my older daughter cause she is not biological of my husband. After these she proceeded to look at the applications page by page and kept looking at the documents I had just given her, I guess comparing names and so, she didn't speak or look at us at all, then she asked for evidence that we live together, my attorney handled her a whole package she put together with joint lease, joint bank account, his work benefits when shows I'm beneficiary of the life insurance and the dental coverage, 2 travel itineraries, one from the past and one we have next week, texts and emails records, phone bill showing address and that we have family plan because she even highlighted the 2 phone numbers showed in front and lots of pictures, she took the time to look at all these page by page and picture by picture without again saying a word or looking at us, the application and evidence took her about 30 min and I swear I was about to panic, her straight face was making me more nervous than I was, when she finally finished with that she looked straight at me and asked for my full name, date of birth, address, first name of my mom and first name of my dad, then asked me all the yes and no questions about crimes to which I answered no to all of them and after this she said "ok so I will give a final review to your application and you should get an answer in 30 days, if I need more evidence I'll ask for it, you can go" ...my husband asked if that was if and she said yes and told us to have a good day.

My husband was even joking around and said that if he knew he would have stayed at home cause he didn't even had to open his mouth lol ...I asked my attorney what she thought and she said it went better than she was expecting and that I just need to be patient, I was hoping for an approved on the spot thing but I guess it could have been worse
Harassment Level : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
