Consulate Review: Dublin, Ireland
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : February 20, 2015
Embassy Review : Had my interview at 1pm and turned up 35 mins before at the entrance and told to come back at 12:45pm.
Arrived back at that time and had to line up in the freezing cold not too long a wait. security is the usual airport security.
Once inside had to get to a window and basically tell them who I was and they looked over my file. Was told I was missing a document for which totally put me off my focus as I had a certified copy of the original. At this point I was handed back my chest scans. I was the 2nd in line but was the first to be called as others had to pay fees.
I was called to the interview window after a couple of minutes of waiting. I was greeted by two woman who were very friendly. She reviewed my paperwork and reviewed all the taxes etc. Then got my finger prints scanned and swore everything was correct.
I was asked where I met my wife? When did we start our relationship? where does her family live? When I planned on moving to the US? What did my wife do? Where do we plan on living in the US?
I was then told the copy I had wasn't sufficient but to mail in the original and I was pre-approved. Asked me if I wanted my passport back which I didn't require. Left a little frustrated over the document issue but it wasn't the end of the world.
supplied the document a week later and once it was received the embassy were very efficient. Overall a good experience on the Embassy side but then again the USCIS and NVC part is so bad it would be very easy for this part to seem good

Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
