Consulate Review: Belgium
Review Topic: EB-2 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 18, 2014
Embassy Review : NVC: (603) 334-0700
-------------------
Case created: June 23, 2014 (case number BRS 2014 XXX XXX)
Case invoiced: July 3, 2014
CEAC: "At NVC"
Case complete: September 16, 2014 (got email on Sep 17)
Interview scheduled: on or before Oct 6th (called NVC that day to find out),
P4 letter: email on Oct 7
CEAC: "In transit" (noticed change on Oct 9)

Oct 9 & 18: Medical
No appointment (nor interview letter) necessary in Antwerp. Dr. Wildiers does medicals on Thu between 4-6pm, go early (3:30 or so) since you need to get an x-ray at a separate clinic 15 min away by foot and they close at 5pm; results are normally ready by Saturday morning; I paid (cash only) EUR 45 (visit 1) + 35 (xray) + 25 (bloodwork) + 10 (visit 2). You need 3 passport photos. They don't have to be 5cm*5cm (I brought the big ones and he ended up cutting them so they fit...)

Case actually left NVC: Oct 20 (should have asked NVC for tracking info, but instead had to guess shipping reference EXP 17 OCT 2014A: http://www.dhl.com/en/express/tracking/shippers_reference.html?fromDayValue=01&fromMonthValue=10&fromYearValue=2014&shipperReference=EXP%2017%20OCT%202014A&toDayValue=21&toMonthValue=10&toYearValue=2014)

US Consulate, Brussels:
-----------------------
Oct 20: Received reply from BrusselsIV@state.gov to email sent on Oct 17 regarding rescheduling. They said my case hadn't arrived yet.

Case arrived: Oct 22 by DHL 4840520145 (A guess.)

Nov 4: CEAC —> "Ready”, got earlier date!

Interview: Nov 13, 2pm (was: Nov 18, 2pm) —> approved
Showed up 30 min early (despite what it says on the site, they’ll store your phone in a locker at the embassy). Two phases: first, we went over paper work to make sure (yet again) everything was there. Gave them a fresh pair of pics (even though we sent them to NVC), handed over medical exam results. Took fingerprints, that was it for phase 1. A bit later, got called back for my interview, which was super short. Asked about company name (he “accidentally” said it wrong, so I gracefully corrected him). Asked who the petitioner was, what the company does, what my wife does.

Pick up passport: 1 week later, Nov 20 (they can’t do earlier, apparently)
