Consulate Review: Islamabad, Pakistan
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : October 15, 2015
Embassy Review : K1 Visa Approval Experience from Islamabad Embassy.

Reached Shuttle Service: 5:45 (It was a rainy day)
Shuttle ticket office opened: 7:00
Boarded bus to Embassy: 7:15

There are 2 checkpoints before you enter the main embassy building.

In the embassy:
First the will give you a token number. First your number will be called for fingerprints then for Medical submission. In my case I was called third time for k1 visa fees submission. They call numbers randomly for interview. I was the first one to enter embassy that morning but was called for interview quite late. While giving fingerprints and submitting medical I saw my case folder through the window. My folder had AP written on top of it. I was sure that the interview will be just a formality and that they have already decided to put me on AP.
I was called for the interview in a while.

The officer took the oath from me and asked me to put my fingers on the reader. They couldnt verify my finger prints so he called his colleague. He sorted it out.
Officer greeted me morning with a smile and asked the following questions,
Who is calling you?
How do you know each other?
I saw some pics from UK, what where you doing there?
How long have you been in UK?
How you guys you used to communicate?
Take your original documents, I am approving your visa and the courier service will contact with you in 2 weeks.

Thats it!! He didnt asked me to show a single document. I had alot of evidences, photographs and chat logs with me to show them but they didnt ask for anything. I was on the interview window for less than 2 minutes.

The officer was a gentleman. He was smiling and friendly with me all time.

Dont get confused if you see AP written on your case, it may be mean approval as in my case.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
