Consulate Review: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : December 2, 2014
Embassy Review : Our interview was set at 07:40 in the morning, I chose a Hotel near to the Consulate. Months of waiting and review all documents each day until that! I was very nervous and anxious but my fiancé was with me, for sure, I felt more positive. We walked to the wrong side, too many people in the line. A gentle woman asked us for what kind of Visa we are applying, she said the right side, for my surprise It had one more couple and three girls. Ok, we are inside but went lost again, rsrsrrs, in the window the CO called a woman to show us where was the right place, she asked thousands of excuses for him and us. Ok, we went upstairs...just few people's and one guy in the table to see all our documents and put in order, we needed to write our addresses, we had a seat and wait. No more than 15 minutes a guy in the window ask for my name, he asked for some documents, I gave to him but not include the divorce paper in Portuguese, I had just in English. I became nervous and he said: Don't worry, be calm! You can send to us by post office!
Ok, he asked us to seat again and wait.
No more than 10 minutes the CO called us, I was drinking a cold and filtrated water in the room, enjoying the condition air and the comfortable chairs .... I am saying that because whom goes to São Paulo - Brazil to get a Visa knows what I am talking about .... Hehehehe
Ok, we went to talk with the CO in a little window but it's not so bad, we had thousands of papers and pictures in hand. We needed to make an Oath, he ask me how we meet each other, I said the true that was in a Japanese restaurant in my City in Brazil. The CO its a kind young Japanese who was living in California then living in Rio de Janeiro. So, that was my only question!
My fiancé starts to talking with him about, ... I do not know because I was still looking the paper. He said, it's ok ... Don't worry, send it to me by post office and you'll receive your Visa at home, ok?
Ok. We are greatfull for his kindly and we had to pay the fees in the post office, near to the Consulate!!!! Yeeeeeeee .... We rented a car to go to Buzios and expend 1 week together just celebrating..... I am waiting for my Visa because yesterday they received my document.

..... We loved Buzios, it's a beautiful place in Rio de Janeiro!

Don't need to be worry, your day it's coming !!!!
No tears, no pain ! Just faith !!!

Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
