Consulate Review: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : December 22, 2014
Embassy Review : Arrived at 7.30
Waited 45 minutes for finger prints
Waited 30 minutes for submitting documents
Waited 1 hour for the interview

I went with my fiance. When we submitted our documents, the lady was really nice. She asked us couples of questions. She mentioned my fiance as my husband, but I said not yet, he was my fiance. She smiled and said good luck to us.

We got a white man interviewer. He and the translator was nice. For other couples, they asked the US petitioners to wait but they did interviewed both of us. They asked:

1. If I could do the interview in English (I said I'd rather in Vietnamese but he said they would ask some in English first)
2. How I met my HUSBAND (I corrected them immediately lol)
3. When I joined that dating site
4. How many men I met before my fiancé
5. Asked my fiance when he joined the site
6. How many times my fiance went to Vietnam
7. How many days he stayed each time
8. Asked my fiance how many days off he had
9. Whose the nickname cupcake was (still wondering how they knew, it was kinda secret)
10. Which cooking class I joined (Like OMG how they knew lol, they didn't even read our chat logs)
11. Asked for all pictures we had (they just took a quick look at our photo packages, then gave back)
12. Asked about our wedding plan and told us to appy for a marriage license first then we could do the reception whenever we wanted.

They smiled a lot, asked questions really fast and gave congratulations to us. We were So lucky to get nice interviewers like them.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
