I am so very happy to report that my husband's visa has Finally been approved. I think every road block that we could have hit, we did.
Part of me wants to write a review about the Embassy and the whole process that we have spent the last 2 years going through...and I will; eventually.But right now all I can say is il hamdillah!!!!! I am so very very thankful to God that my husband will finally be coming to his home.
The whole process could stand some major improvements...and the Embassy could be much more helpful and respectful, but I am so thankful that they approved him.
Going through this immigration process is overwhelmingly hard, and expensive. I hired the largest most reputable law firm in my city and though they were nice and tried to be comforting they were of little help. The attorney that I hired is 50% immigration in his practice, yet was befuddles by the fact that the nvc requested my husband's military information or that I really should get the children's birth certificates translated when I went to MY interview, even though it was on the list of papers that they requested...which cost me $500 bec they told me no, you don't need them, then a week before my interview decided maybe it WOULD be a good idea. So we had to put a rush on it. Of course the man that interviewed me never asked for a single piece of paper. Another waste of money.
Oh and that was another "funny" when I received my letter saying I needed to go to an interview (here in the U.S.) the letter requested that my husband be present at the interview. LOL...I told him to take the letter to the airport and tell them the U.S. government was requeting his presence. Tax dollars hard at work. I only nwished that he was here with me.
I realize this is not really an embassy review but like I said, right now I am just feeling thankful and to everyone waiting...hang in there... the time will pass...and things will get better...It is hard so very hard but there is nothing you can do but go through it. I called the NVC almost every single day...just any news helps you get through. Be patient and understanding with each other as you both grow through it!
