We initially came in to visit and didn't plan on staying but there was a bad blizzard in Canada that winter so we stayed longer because we had driven down and thought it might be hazardous to drive through. We ended up staying and basically living out of 3 suitcases. All our furniture/belongings are still in Canada. We weren't able to retrieve anything until he got the new green card, which he JUST got. It was a really crazy and unplanned thing.
