Event Description

Embassy Review : My sister finally had her interview after waiting for a total of 6 years for her F2B visa(daughter of permanent resident). We got approved for our steps in May 2020. After waiting almost 2 years we were able to get expedited interview for 1/28/22.
The interview went like this:
Arrived 8:45am for a 9:15qm appointment. They let her inside right away.
She got out at 10:40am
She said that first they ask her to organize the documents a certain way. One person call her to the window and she hand it her documents there then waiting began to get interview by the consulate. She said that they ask her a few times in different ways who is her petitioner(which is her mom). Then he try to trick her by asking her about her “husband” and she said I am single. Then ask her if she has kids. She said not kids and no husband. He ask her this same questions in other ways trying to trick her. She said the person was polite but she definitely felt he was trying to trick her. We are glad we send the most recent tax returns because that is one of the main things they ask for. Although when the documents were submitted in the steps the last tax return was from 2019. Counsel also ask her what she plans to do in the US. Even ask her who her mom lives with and what is the pet name.
My sister said she was very nervous because she saw many people getting denied or left the window crying. She felt bad for a girl that her husband was her petitioner and he didn’t send her an original copy of his previous divorce paperwork. He only sent her copies. I guess they wanted all originals.
At the end of the interview he told my sister to make sure she learn english and said congratulations. He said you will receive an email this afternoon.
My sister didn’t end up receiving any email but did receive an email saying that her documents were getting deliver to DHL. That was the next day.
I also was able to check online with her case number and it said “ISSUED”.
Rating : Very Good

Thank you so much for your review! I was wondering if you don't mind sharing what were the reasons you gave to request an expedite interview date? Thank you in advance :)

I was able to do an expedite by contacting our state representative(for VT). I told him that our mom is having a lot of medical issues and we need my sister her ASAP to help out with her. I showed him proof of my mom medical history. He contacted immigration through the expedited email I provided to him and they approved it. That help us get expedited. My sister did bring doctor note and medical history to the interview but they didn’t ask for any of it.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
