Local US CIS Office Review: Raleigh NC

Event Description
Review Date : October 29, 2013
Embassy Review : My partner and I went in for his adjustment of status to get his permanent residency status. We were married in July 2013.

Overall, the experience was good and didn't take very long. It was about 40 minutes overall. The officer was a bit cold during the interview. Very business-like. She didn't really ask any personal questions of us. She only asked questions to confirm our identities and to make sure that he wasn't a terrorist/drug dealer/pimp/etc. Lastly, she asked for any additional evidence to prove that we are a legitimate couple. Again, she was a bit cold about the whole process and didn't really give any indication positively or negatively about the outcome of the interview. She merely stated that she would review everything including his criminal background check (he has no criminal background) to make sure that everything was OK. She did say, that if everything checked out, that the process would be approved in four to six weeks.

We got home and about 30 minutes later received an automated message from the system saying that it had been approved.
I think she just wanted to see us sweat a little.
Harassment Level : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
