Embassy Review : Hello VJ Members.

I want to share my F2A Interview experience at the US Embassy in Islamabad and also some tips which might be helpful to some friends.

I booked a Hotel near Aabpara by the name of New Islamabad Hotel. They give a free pickup from the Airport. The Hotel Charges around 3000 to 3500
for a Single Room with either 2 single bed or 1 master bed. a 14inch TV along with AC and standby generator plus free Wifi is available.

They have rent a car service which will drop you at Shuttle Seevice.

My Interview was scheduled for 7am on 11th May 2015 (Previously my Interview was on 27th April 2015, But due to some embassy's domestic issues? They changed my date
I reached the Diplomatic Shuttle Service Centre at 5am from my Hotel. 5 persons were already waiting.

After entering the small gate which is opens at 6am sharp and is at the left side. I was told to go into a hall where there were many counters for different embassies. Counter 6 from right is for USA (Male Applicants) and Counter 3 from right is for USA (Female Applicants).

(Make sure to keep your Passport, Interview Letter in hand all the time)

After paying Rs.200 as a Shuttle Service. I was told to go to the last counter on the left to deposit my Cellphone or any electronic device as the Embassies do not allow any such inside their premises.
Be sure to keep the Token Reciept for Cellphone.

Then there is a Body Check Booth for both male and female on the right most corner of the building. After this procedure I was told to enter another hall where there were a lot of benches for shuttle passengers.

(Sit in the First Row to get and early sitting in the bus)

After reaching the Embassy. There is a Yellow Line for immigration Visa and other line for Non Immigrant.
Inside the embassy the procedure is like this.

(get a token and then be seated)

An embassy representative called the number one by one for Biometric Fingerprints and asked my date of birth. and 2 Photographs (2x2 size).

(Remember to take out your photos before he calls your token number)

Then after 15 minutes of waiting. My number was again called.

I was asked to submit my Passport and Nikah Nama / Marriage certificate and other additional documents which the Embassy has asked in the Interview letter and also the language selection in which the interview will be taken. The guy asked my contact number and other additional phone number.

(Try to remember atleast 2 Phone numbers in case)

Then another 15 minute of wait and I was asked to goto another counter where a Friendly American with a Tattoo on his arm asked me to take oath. That whatsoever I will say will be solemnly nothing but the truth and any Lie will go against me.

The Visa officer asked me the following questions.

1. Who is calling you.
a. my wife
2. how long have you been married.
a. 6 years.
3. Do you have children.
a. yes a son.
4. how old is he.
a. I said, he will be 5 years old this 26th of May.
5. what was the year you married.
a. answered
6. how many countries you traveled abroad name them.
a. answered
7. show me your family photos.
a. I gave him the albums but he only look at a few pictures.
8. Can I see your sons birth certificate.
a. gave him a copy. he said oh his birthday is just round the corner.

then he said, congratulations your visa has been approved. I hope you enjoy your sons birthday with him.

Thats it. I couldn't believe that he didn't ask for a renewed Police Certificate. or Update Tax returns or W2 form or any Chat records.

He handed over my original documents which I submitted at the NVC.

Case Closed.
