Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : July 3, 2013
Embassy Review : Overall it was a pretty positive experience. We arrived at about 5:00am and we were first in line for our 7:30 appointment. We went through the finger scanning process very quickly. We then waited very impatiently for our number to be called for our Filipino Consular interview. It was a very frustrating process because people that were behind us in line got called for their interview before ours. This was really the only frustrating part of the interview process. However, when we finally got called for our Filipino Consular interview, she took forever to go over our paperwork. She did not ask that many questions but she questioned the authenticity of my fiancée’s birth certificate. She scanned the document with her little black light about 10 times before she finally told us to sit down and wait for our number to be called again. We waited for approximately 2 hours for our American Consular interview. When our number flashed on the screen, my fiancée did not believe me that it was finally our turn. We were called to lucky window 62. Our American Consular officer was so nice and only asked us a few questions. He didn't even ask to see our proof of an ongoing relationship. It took us only about 2 to 3 minutes when he said "Congratulation your visa has been approved". It must have been my lucky dress shirt and tie. LOL. Now we wait for my fiancée’s visa to arrive.

Good luck to everyone in their future endeavors.
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
