Consulate Review: Jamaica
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : January 30, 2016
Embassy Review : Interview Date 01.25.2016. First off I would like to thank VisaJourney and the many people that have given guidance, inspiration & advice!!! If one is diligent and does their homework, it does not require an attorney. We did learn a few things along the way that might help. File for the Police Certificate and the Certificate of No Impediment as soon as you can. We had to postpone twice because they were not ready. Some of the questions were:
How did we meet?
Our ages?
How often do we talk/communicate?
Where do I work in the States?
Asked my daughter to be "was she excited to come to the U.S.?"
They did not even look at the big notebook of "evidence" I had delivered this August. I AM SO PROUD OF MY ANDREA AND OUT KIDS. APPROVED.javascript:emoticon('')
Waiting on the visa now. Thank you all for your help!!! Jay

03.01.2019 Received letter from Homeland Security: U.S.c>I.S has received your form and is currently processing your application. This notice informs you that USCIS is able to reuse your previously captured fingerprints and othe biometrics....It is not necessary for you to appear at a USCIS Application Support Center for a biometrics appointment. The biometrics fee will not be refunded.

Received an I-797C 02.22.2019 saying biometics not necessary. Received one today (05.09.2019) giving an appointment date of 05.23.2019, 15:00 for biometrics appointment. WTF?

Andrea passed the interview with flying colors!!! 4 hour drive to Detroit and back for 30 minute interview. Have to wait for citizenship oath appointment. Probably a few more months. We are unsure how the citizenship derives to the children. It seems they want us to pay another $1170 for a certificate for the children. Jank. Thank you all for your help, advice & support.

Update. recived U.S. Citizenship July 21st at the DTW USCIS Office. It was a little letdown as it was a drive through ceremony." Stayed in the car due to COVID19. Many thanks to the USCIS Field Office in Detroit and all the Visa Journey questions & answers. Good luck to everyone

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
