Embassy Review : Overall very positive experience.

There is no way around it...you will be nervous and uneasy until after the interview is over. The staff at the embassy makes every attempt to ease your suffering, and is very friendly and professional.

We arrived at the embassy 45 min ahead of interview and had to wait outside until 1pm and name is called. Upon entering you go through security (similar like at the airport) and leave all electronics and liquids at the front.

After you are escorted to a room which is similar set up like a post office with window booths (1-16) and area for people to sit. You are called several times to different booths 1) drop off passport, 2)take fingerprints, 3) drop off sealed medical package provided from medical exam, drop off birth certificate, copy of birth certificate, affidavit of support, proof of relationship, 4) you pay the visa fee $240 usd, and 5) you have the interview.

Interview went well as both petitioner and beneficiary were present. Basically was a conversation, how we met, what are plans for the wedding, what are the petitioner's parents' names, if any issues with police etc. Nothing out of the ordinary. After we were told we were approved (Thanks to God) and we asked if we can pick up passport same day which luckily we were able to.

Advice:
-For affidavit of support: have a packet ready (i-134 form, bank letter, work letter, 1 year tax return). Have more details handy and submit if asked. I had too much info (3 years returns, both IRS transcripts and 1040s)

-For proof of relationship: I had too much and folder barely fit. I would recommend to create a nice summary that tells a nice story, and focus on bigger picture...passport entry/exit stamps, boarding passes, cards, phone bills, skype logs, facetime. Think of what a reasonable person would need to be convinced you have a genuine relationship. That being said, have a lot of back up ready to provide at moments notice and make the interviewer aware.

-Do your research. Read as much as you can from all websites, as processes change, and learning through what worked well for some and what didn't for others will make you prepared. It's better to be over prepared than under prepared.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
