US Entry : 2014-05-30
Comments : Took a little trouble with the courier when visa was due for pick-up due to different statements on how long they hold the visa before giving it back to the embassy. It changed a lot of plans since I reside in the province and not in the Metro Manila area. Did not opt for visa delivery for mail gets unreliable in my current address. Fair experience; it took five business days for the embassy to ship the visa to 2Go after the interview, and another day for 2Go to drop it at the pick-up point.

Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : May 15, 2014
Embassy Review : The entire process was smooth, quick, and efficient. First part was biometrics which is basically a 5-10 minutes review of documents. The second part was the consul interview where I was asked to take an oath. Several questions like when did you meet, how often do you communicate, how many times he visited the country were asked. The consul also asked for pictures of the wedding and vacations together. Right then and there, my visa application was approved. The last window will direct if there are additional documents needed, although thankfully there weren't any for me.

For all of you with upcoming interviews, just make sure you have updated documents, and relax.

Good luck!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
