Local US CIS Office Review: Charleston SC

Event Description
Review Date : January 26, 2013
Embassy Review : The office is easy to find. We arrived at 1:00 since our appointment was at 1:30. We went through security and checked in. We were told to sit down and wait for our name to be called. After a long and vey boring wait (no cellphones to play with) we were finally called at 2:45pm, the Officer didn't seem very friendly, he swore us and asked us to sit down. Started asking questions to my husband (USC) about how we met, how long we dated, who attended our wedding, where he worked and where we lived and if the house was rented or no. He then asked me when was the last time I had entered the country and if I worked. The officer asked another question but we didn't know who he was talking to so my husband started answering and I kind of completed it and the officer told me "you can't help him with the answers" after that he looked at our pics and bank accounts, insurance and car policies. He then stood up and told us he needed to get some copies of our pictures and that was all. He said he needed to check our paper work again before making a decision. All in all it took 15 minutes. Two days later I checked my case status and it said "approved". In my opinion the Officer didn't seem friendly but he wasn't mean either. I guess to be that way is just part of the job.
Harassment Level : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
