Comments : Everything went pretty well during our wait for AOS. The only thing that slowed it down was that my husband didn't have his Tax-returns at hand as we had been living in England for the last 11 years. That was quickly remedied by filing 3 years backtaxes and submitting copies date stamped by the local IRS (Oct-2012) .We had our Interview scheduled on the 15th jan in Buffalo which went really well. We left home in our car at 05:30 and arrived in Buffalo at 08:40. Our Interview was at 09:45 so we were a bit early. The security guards were very friendly as we arrived ,they quickly got us in to the building and directed us to another room to register. The lady there sent us upstairs for our appointment. We signed our name and time of arrival in a book at the little window,it was now 08:50. We sat down thinking we had a long wait ahead but at 09:00 a young lady came out and called our names . She directed us to an office and asked us to sit down . She was very approachable and smiled when I put my large folder on her desk. ( I had brought copies of everything we had previously sent plus more photos and evidence. ) She started going over all the forms we had sent in confirming all the details and ticking off everything as she was going along. She asked both of us questions in relation to all our details but as everything was completed correctly it was all very simple. She then looked through all the photos, bills and other additional evidence we had brought with us.She was interested in talking about the places we had visited together and the family photos we brought. She asked if she could copy everything but appeared pleased when I said that I had all the copies prepared for her to keep. She said it was great that we were so organized as it saved her a lot of time. She asked us about our wedding in Sweden and our Blessing in England and looked through all the photos again. As I had a new passport in 2012 I had also brought my old expired passport as it had all the travel stamps in it. She stood up and said ' That should be everything, I just need to take some more copies of your passports'.She told us that they would look at our case in the afternoon and we should get the official reply in the next week unless they needed some more evidence and the Green card should arrive within a few weeks . She took us to the waiting-room and asked us to wait there. There were many other people waiting there by now . I looked at the time and realized we had been in the office for 45mins already. She came back after a few minutes handing us our passports, smiling and saying ,thats all. We said Goodbye and walked out of the USCIS building. We got home just before 13:00, had lunch, and I sat down in the sofa and fell asleep for 2 hours. :). Online resident status showed up the day after on the website. The letter 'Welcome to the United States of America' arrived on the 22 jan. and the Green Card was delivered By our Mail -lady on the 25th jan 2013... 10 years residency Yay!!!!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
