I would like to share my interview experience. I booked my interview appointment over the phone March 20, 2013 and I was scheduled for interview April 3 and was instructed to have the medical exam at least 1 week prior to the interview date.
My appointment was 7:30 and I arrived at 6:00 in the embassy. I was waiting outside and some people their were doing their business selling stuff like passport cover and passport photos just don't listen on what they will tell you. They don't know the process and the requirements and they will just confused you by telling you must have this or whatever. Just a friendly reminder if you don't have 30 pesos then don't sit on the plastic chair outside the embassy because it's not for free.
At 6:00 a.m. the guard called the 7:30 applicants and instructed us to make a single line in the immigrant section. The embassy personal will gather some documents from you( passport, appointment comfirmation(this is the doc with your interview date and time and the prepared courier), 2 DS 156, 2 DS 157, 1 DS 156 K. Just sign the forms and paste your passport photos in your DS 156 forms in advance.
Then, your bag will be checked in an x ray machine just like in the airport. Do not bring something metallic and gadgets even USB or you will denied entry.
Once I passed the security check I went to window 39 and was given priority number and instructed to wait outside. I waited outside for about 30 minutes then the guard called all the K1 visa and immigrants go inside. I passed through another security check before going inside the embassy. I sit there for about 2 hours, then I saw my number flased on the screen. I went to window 43 for finger printing then instructed to wait again for pre screening interview.
At 9 a.m, it was my turn for my pre screening interview with the Filipina consul, I was nervous because my birthdate on my CENOMAR has an error and I just noticed it a night before my interview.
The Filipina consul was so professional with a soft tone voice.
I greet her good morning and she responded.
She asked my valid passport ( place in a clear plastic with a zip lock ), NSO, CENOMAR, NBI and my police clearance( I worked outside the country for 2 years), latest income tax return ( I gave her 2011 and she asked 2012 I told her that my fiance is not due for filing until APril) she accepted it.
She reviewed my documents and found out that my CENOMAR has an error with my birthdate, she noted it in a separate sheet of paper then proceed with the interview.
She asked my complete name and birth date, my petitioner's name, when was the first time we first met and how did we meet, how long did we correspond to each other, when was the last time we saw each other, his work |
