Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : October 24, 2012
Embassy Review : Her interview date was Wednesday October 17 at 7:00 AM. I sent a confirmation e-mail for the date on October 10 and got a confirmation reply. Since we only met once and had only one picture together prior to filling I129F, I decided to make a quick trip to Lagos to get some more pictures as well as help her prepare.

We arrived close to 6:45 AM (touts close to the airport condemned her passport photos because she had neckles and ear rings on the one we stapled to the application. They basically made her take a new picture. We found out at the embassy that it did not make a difference).

My baby went in in the mad rush and forgot to open her medical envelop when it was announced. She also left her money in the bag she asked me to hold. Once inside, they asked her to go out and open the envelop, which she did, but when it was her turn to pay, she discovered she don't have her money. She was asked to wait for the 10 AM interview time-slot...this was disappointing but trust in God helped us realize that this may be his wish...

Now the interview:

Who introduced you to my fiancee? My sister knew her from service

-Why did his sister introduced him to you ? She gave whatever reason

-How do I get to know the sister? Bla bla bla

-When did I met my fiancee? Tricky...my document stated Dec 24, 2011, so they want to know if she can state the same date or miss it...she passed

-What happened when I met him? bla bla bla...how do they know...it was love at first sight

-Where does he live in US ? She gave the correct answer...thanks to Visajourney

-Where does he work? Correct answer again..thanks to Visajourney

-Has your fiancee been married before? Correct answer too

-Does he have kids ? Yep...she knows this

-How many kids does he have ? Correct answer

-Why do I choose him ? bla bla bla...he is the only man who can make me happy

-Finally as a Nigerian why do we chose to get married in the US? I guess she told them what they wanted to hear...we did not discuss this...but I dont think the answer mattered
-When she was given the AOS package, the CO took her time to review and was very happy with what she saw based on her head movement that my girl observed

-Our call logs were reviewed very well...according to my baby, she went over the logs as if she was digging for something...she had text messages as well as extensive rebtell call log that covered the entire year 2012, I guess she was reading the messages to see if something was fishy...but only saw normal communication

-She then asked for pictures....thanks for my quick visit...we had plenty for her to review, including pictures taken when my family went for the formal introduction..she asked my girl to show her my sister that introduced us in one of the pictures

--Her last word was Congratulations...pick up your visa in a week from.....

Thanks to all that take their time to post reviews...without this site, things would have been different
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
