Consulate Review: Guangzhou, China
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : September 6, 2012
Embassy Review : Finally approved! :>

09/02: My lady went to Guangzhou in the afternoon and stayed in a Hotel very close to the consulate. That is also we learnt from many previous experience.
09/03: In the early morning, Shirley took a TAXI to the medical exam. It is very important to get there early because she want to get back the report on the same day since the second day is document intake. After the exam, it is almost 10am. She went back hotel and got the report in the late afternoon. One thing to remind here is that you do need to have 5 photos for the exam report.
09/04: This is the day for document intake. Shirley went there on 11:00am. She wait for a long time before she was called. We still do not know the reason why. The lady did not ask any question, only took the documents. There is ONE VERY IMPORTANT thing to remind is to glue your 2 photos on the 156/157 Form. There is glue there but there is no scissors to cut the photos. So my lady went out and got the scissor outside in one shop and then went in to handle it. Also, the photo must be within 6 months!
09/05: The interview seems to follow the same pattern as the day before. Shirley's number is called very late around 11:00am. She told me she was almost the last few people there. But fortunately her interview process is smooth. The gentleman who helped her do the finger print did the interview. 10 questions were asked:
1.Who is the petitioner?
2.what kind of job your fiance do?
3.how do you know each other?
4.how long do you know each other?
5.have you married before, any kids?
6.have your fiance married before, any kids?
7.When and why was he got divorced?
8.how many years his last marriage?
9.when do you engage?
10.how often he come to see you?
That is all. After the interview, my lady thanked the VO and said "That really makes my day!" and smile...
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
