Embassy Review : That morning I tried being there at 6h30 but ended up arriving at 6h50 or so. There were two people in line before me.
You'll tell if you're at the right place because you should see a bunch of people just holding a file in their hands.
Some people arrived after, with bigger bags.
I was worried because when the guard opened the door, he put up a sign that listed all things you cannot bring in with you. A cellphone was listed among them.

I asked him as I went in, and he said it was ok.
You enter the building one person/couple at a time.
Left right after entering a woman will ask you for your confirmation letter and your passeport. She will take the loomis number I believe, write it on a sticker, and put it on the back of your passeport.

Then come the guards. Kind of scary. Try to avoid asking questions. I was kind of confused as to who would give me a number as I read something about a ticket # here.
The guards will NOT give you a number, unless you are leaving an object. In my case, I was permitted to leave my cellphone. (Please shut it off for their sanity and for the sake of your battery).

I went down a set of stairs to the basement, into a waiting room by the elevator. There's a photo booth machine to the side.
Suddenly this lady came downstairs handing us papers to fill out (which the guards forgot to give to us). They were of a survey about the place were we did our medical, and putting your name was optional. I filled it out, but never knew who to hand it to upstairs, so don't worry about it. Your visa doesn't depend on you filling out a survey.

The guard finally came downstairs and opened the little gate to the elevator.
He told us to go to the left, to see a lady in a booth. When the elevator was there we all got in, and stayed in the direction we faced when entering the elevator, since the exit doors are in the back.
Once we arrived, we went left as indicated and waited in line to be given a number.
At that point I had some lady that was one of the last arrived in the waiting room downstairs, trying to pass me. I kid you not. I clearly didn't let that happen. :P
I got number C3

When I was finally called, the guy behind the glass just askeed me for documents, one after the other. Be organized so you don't have to look through your file like crazy. You will be standing up.
I had little colored tabs on all my papers listing what they were, so it was real easy to pull out.
When he saw that I am of Spanish origin, he started asking me for the papers in Spanish. He was actually a pleasant person to deal with.
He asked for:
- Birth certificate
- Confirmation letter
- Fiance letter of intent
- Affidavid of Support
- Tax returns for 2011
- Police certificate

He took digital fingerprints of both hands.

Then I went to sit back down and wait.

The couple ahead of me was called for their interview. I could hear them a little bit from where I was sitting. I noticed they asked a lot of questions and it was all giggles and stuff. At that point I wished I had my fiance with me. I was starting to get nervous.

They left the booth all happy, and I was hoping I'd leave happy too.
I finally got called and I got this nice girl. She swore me in. Let it be said that you aren't going 'in' anywhere. You're in front of a booth again, except this one has walls on each side for more privacy.
I think she could tell I was really nervous because she kept it very brief.
She asked me:
- When and where did you guys meet? (I said Live Journal).
- She asked me where on Live Journal. I said the truth, it was some sort of random thing, probably by keyword. He and I don't even truly remember that. (back in 2003!)
- She asked me when we got engaged. I specified that we decided to get married in August prior to filling and that he later proposed in person when he visited me again.
- She asked how/where: I said at the airport where we first kissed XD

Then she said it was all good. She didn't say 'Welcome to the United States of America'. However she did hand me out the paper that said it.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
