Event Description
Review Date : July 9, 2013
Embassy Review : First and foremost..... I give all of our Glory to God......Most highest praise and honor.....I also could not have done any of this with VJ

Our interview was July 3, 2013. @ 7:00am. This was my fifth visit to Naija, since reuniting with my Fiance a year and half ago, but this visit was so very very important to the both of us..... I headed out for Lagos five before our big day to prepare fully. The morning of his interview we decided to wake up around 3:30 am to pray, get dressed
and eat a little something. We made great timing and we were in the car by 4:30am which was the targeted time for us to leave. We prayed while driving again and we also rehearsed some more possible questions. We arrived by 5:10 am and we were approached as soon as we pulled in by guys who wanted to sell us passport pics and ready to staple your passport pic to your DS 156....(Ignore not necessary at all), as long as you bring your passport photos....you need (3) and you don't have to staple of glue anything. The parking is somewhat far from the entrance of the embassy....so to park its a 1000k...and you will be issued a car park ticket....we tried to get them to reduce the price but they wouldn't budge. If being dropped off you can be dropped off in front of the embassy. Okay so we parked and paid and walked all the way down to the entrance of the embassy, by that time it was about 5:20 am not many people waiting but people were steady comming. We sat onthese logs/ rocks by the water with others, around 6:15 everyone lined up and got scanned with a portable metal detector and they lined up on another line, all this is outside ( kinda unorganized) because as more ppl came they stopping scanning ppl and just designated ppl to thier appropriate line. Around 6:30/6:45 am a lady came outside and made an announcement saying to listen very carefully. The instructions were to make sure you lined up on the right line and you had all your paper work ready. All K1's fall under Immigrant visa, be sure to listen for Immigrant visa and your appt time. For example: Immigrant Visa for 7:00 am line up here. So finally around 7:15 he lined up and I said pray until you get it and don't drop anything....love you and good luck. He said I will come out and give you two thumbs up if we are approved. I said IJN you will. Then a man came out and repeated several times no cell phones and take out all your documents (Appt confirmation letter, DS-160 confirmation letter, police report, medical envelope sealed, and birth certificate, and place it in between your bio data page of your passport. This is all being asked outside while on your designated line. Then the man said open up all sealed envelopes. Fifteen minutes later they got searched one by one and walked inside this white shed and 20 minutes or so after walked out on the opposite end into the embassy. At this time it was about 8:00 am and now myself and others are waiting, ppl were waiting for their appt times to be called and ppl were like me waiting for their loved ones. There was still a constant flow of ppl coming in. Alot. There is no real place to wait, so everyone waited under the tree. As I am waiting I thinking to myself wow....I'm not nervous or anxious or anything, I couldn't believe it. I had a certain sense of peace overflowing my body. Time is ticking and I am seeing ppl come out with all kinds of emotions. At 10:00 am I look up and see my baby with his blue shirt far away, I couldn't see his face just his shirt and I immediately got nervous because I knew our fate was about to be revealed no matter what. So I got up and started to walk towards the car slowly and new he would be right behind me in minutes....so I gave it a couple of seconds and then I turned back slowly thinking he should be in back of me by now.....omg omg I made eye contact with him and he gave me the two thumbs up with a smile so wide. I stopped dead in my tracks and digested it all we both screamed and jumped up and down and walked so fast to the car....everyone was looking at us and smiling. All I know it was pure tears of joy for us.

Now details of his Interview, he said when he walked in he was separated by immigrants and non immigrants. He had to submit all those important docs that he was told to put in his passport to one CO and then he sat down and was given a number and waited. There was two CO white ladies, one was denying and one was approving, the approving always gave 2 or 3 pieces of white paper. He said when he walked up to the first CO who collected his docs he saw a thick folder with a big red stamp of approval...but he was not sure if it was ours. While sitting there he prayed and prayed all while hearing ppl get denied and approved. Then finally his number was called to the white lady who was approving everyone. They greeted each other and the interview began.

When was the first time you met in what year?
Where does she live?
Where does she work?
What here job title?

That was it 4 Questions under 5 minutes....

She was typing some stuff and lifted up the file and he said he saw that red stamp again, and then he knew that was ours. She then asked for the DS 156 and 156k and affividavit of support and support docs like income tax. He had everything labeled and in its own clear sheet...very easy to give to her. She then asked for his passport and he attempted to hand over mines and said my fiancee is outside, but she said its okay. She then handed him 3 pieces of paper....his original birth certificate, the white paper saying when and where to pick up visa, and $165.00 fee instruction sheet.

She then said thank you for comming, approved, go and pick up your visa next week. Welcome......

She gave him a big smile, he said thank you so much and that was all.

Its God God work period.......

Tips:
Pray Pray Pray
Know your partner in and out
Organize everything
Study VJ in and out
Prepare in advance
Be on time
Bring all required paper work..triple check
No cell phones
They will tell you to take off your belt
3 passports pics needed
Most important please Front load

I cannot stress enough the importance of front loading. I front loaded with 150 pic, 2 affidavits from friends and family, receipts, copies of all my trips boarding passes, and Facebook snap shots, messages, emails, phone records, etc.

They did not ask for anything additional, they didn't even take my new letter of intent.
We brought a bag full of docs that was not even needed at all.

I honestly believe it was so easy because of us front loading every thing in advance.
One more thing we did this whole thing solely by following VJ....and reading and studying everything on the site and asking questions.

God bless and Good luck to everyone, keep the faith, and read read read, and remember God's time is the best time.
Sorry so long and sorry for any typos ;-)

VJ You ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
