Embassy Review : February 5th I had my medical examination which was a very pleasant experience.
It's a 3 hour travel for me to Amsterdam so of course I was making my self a lot more nervous than necessary. "What if I forgot to bring something" etc.
Dr. Schulte's office is basically just a house and it feels very homely. The people were extremely friendly. Because I was an hour early (due to the long travel times) the lady suggested I go get my x-ray (50 euro) taken first.
That place is about a 15 minute walk away from Dr. Schulte's office and is very easy to find. The woman here didn't seem to enjoy her job very much and was very serious. I don't think I've seen a smile on her face (well maybe when I gave her the 50 euro lol).
Back at Dr. Schulte I was given a DTP booster vaccination (35 euro) and they took 1 vial of blood. After that we recorded my height, weight, heart rate, blood pressure and a couple other tests were done. That was finished up with a small list of questions which the doctor goes over with you.
I had also brought my own vaccination list and they updated it with the DTP shot.

The next week, February 12th, I had the "interview".
There were already quite a bit of people waiting when I arrived. At exactly 13:30 a security guard came outside and had everybody line up based on appointment time and whether or not you brought any electronics.
When you go inside you go through an airport-like security and you are asked to deposit your bag with them so you should take out everything you need for the interview. I had all of my documents in a folder. Then it was on to window 5.

They asked for proof of payment, birth certificate, support of evidence and postage and then they took my fingerprints. Recently they changed the postage requirement to be regular stamps, but the man said he preferred the bar code stamp so I gave him that one. (I brought both bar code and regular stamps)
I asked him if he needed my passport photos and if he wanted to see any of the relationship evidence and he said : "Nah, that's fine". I guess they used 1 of the 2 passport photos that I had brought to Dr. Schulte.

After waiting roughly 15 minutes (there were 3 people in front of me) I was called up to window 5 again. You're standing in the same room as the people waiting, so everybody can hear your answers. I thought this was a bit odd and was kind of expecting to be taken into a private area, but I have no problem the way it went though.

He asked me to swear I'd speak the truth and he asked me a couple (simple) questions:
How did you meet
who proposed
When are you getting married(I told him it's undecided yet, all based on whether or not I get the visa but obviously within the 90 days which he seemed to be fine with)
church or civil service
Has your fiancee been married before(because she has a daughter)
Are you excited about becoming a step father

"Alright, you're approved. You'll get your visa in roughly 5 business days."
And he turned around and started doing some paperwork. On the way out the security guard stopped doing what he was doing to wish me good luck which I though was a nice gesture.

That was it. That was what I was so nervous about, just to hand over some documents and be asked a couple very simple questions.
I received my visa the same week and they also returned my original birth certificate(I gave them a copy as well as the original).

Some notes about the building. It's all very small, like a living room or so. The doors are extremely heavy. And you can sit in the fireplace because they've put a bench in there
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
