Consulate Review: Montreal, Canada
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 7, 2013
Embassy Review : I had my interview in montreal on Feb. 28th. overall a good experience, nothing scary about it! so dont worry so much! i stayed at the travelodge only a few blocks from the embassy, the room was small but was reasonably priced and continental breakfast included. parking there overnight was extra $18.
I arrived at the consulate at about 6:30 am, no one there waiting so i was first in line (YAY!) when the doors opened they let us in 1 by 1 and asked for Loomis confirmation and passport. put a sticker on the passport and then went through security. they kept my cigarettes and gave me a ticket to pick them up when my interview was complete. After security you go down stairs and sit as close to the elevator as possible. finally we went up in the elevator, IMMEDIATLEY TURN LEFT TO THE CASHIER COUNTER and they will check you in and give you your ticket (i got c-1 YAY) then a bit more waiting until your number is called. I was asked for a few papers and my fingerprints were scanned. then back to sitting down until my number was called again for my interview. I was asked 3 questions (where do you live? how did you and your fiance meet? and where does he live?)she took my fingerprints again and thats all.. APPROVED!!
I had no problems with having a co-sponsor, so if your in the same boat as me with that dont worry.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
