Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 6, 2012
Embassy Review : I arrived at Manila Embassy around 3:30 am and waited for couple of hours until the guard told us to fall in line. I got the number 11 on the guard's line and i got the 6011 official number.

Around 6:00 am on the first gate the guy asked the following documents:
* Appointment Letter , confirmation from email ( first page only )
* Passport
* BPI receipt

I went inside the embassy and when i number flashed on the screen for preliminary interview the filipino consul from window 57 asked me the following docs:

* NBI Clearance
* Birth Certificate
* Cenomar
* Affidavit of Support ( I-134 )
* W2
* 2010 Income tax return
* Social Security Records
* Pictures being together
* Passport
* BPI Visa Receipt

then he asked me couple of questions.

* Who is your petitioner?
* How long since you two communicate?
* When was the last time you see him?
* Is he divorce?
* Did he meet your parents?

Then after that he told me to wait for my number again to be flash at the screen for the consulate interview while waiting my number flashed and i made the finger printing ..then i wait again for final interview.

I waited for about 30 minutes when finally my number flashed on the screen.
I went to the window 67 and i gave the american consul a huge smile haha.

I made a promise that i will tell the truth for all the questions and the q and a started..

* What is your name?
* Your birthdate?
* How are you related to your petitioner?
* You just meet him less than a year? What made you decide to get married that quick?
* How the two of you communicate? What is his skype id?

After i answered all his questions he pause ..then smiled and told me " well i think everything is fine here , go to window 72 and wait for your number to be flash again for the delivery of your visa. Goodluck and welcome to United States ! "

I was so happy! At first i was nervous but when i'm inside the embassy i was so relaxed finally the long wait is gone! Interview is about 1 and 30 minutes long including the waiting of numbers..but the interview is not about 5 minutes lol.

Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
