Embassy Review : |
Scheduled for 1pm, arrived 15 minutes early, went through security, left phone to be picked up when leaving.
Picked up ticket number A111.
Was called to first window to show invitation letter and ticket number.
Secondly, called to window with extremely nice Brazilian lady that asked for all the paperwork made sure everything was correct, asked for signatures where missing, took copies and checked originals when needed, told me I had everything asked if I wanted interview in Portuguese, no, English is just fine, wished me good luck for the interview. Did not ask for further evidence which I had.
Waited a while and was called for interview in a window too.
Asked if I spoke French, no, English please.
Questions asked:
What happened to your passport?
Have you ever been to the US?
So what is this stamp here?
Who is so and so?
Why did you decide to get married after dating only six months?
Who is this person in photo. (Photo showed my fiancée and my family)
How do you plan to support yourself in the US?
What education do you have?
After this looked over my passport, all the pages, close inspection to passport photo, checking if it was really me, the passport wasn't in good condition I admit.
"The interview went well, you will get your visa in 7 to 10 days, it might a little longer because the security checks haven't come back"
No one asked for additional evidence of relationship which I had, tons of photos, emails, skype logs.
3pm I was out of the embassy, texting my fiancée.

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
