APPROVED PERO!!!! They needed the NBI to show AKA of her wrongfully spelled name on her birth certificate and then it needs to be sent via courier /2GO to the US embassy which is pre-paid by the embassy. Once they receive the NBI with her AKA then they will send her visa through the courier. The interview Itself.. It was a long wait. First you go up to the window and take finger print scan. Then there is a 1st interview by a Filipina national that ask questions about how me and my wife met. What I did for an occupation. When I arrived in the Philippines and pictures. Then we were asked to take a seat. The 2nd interview was in a small room. This interview was very quick and asked basically the same thing. How did we meet. Do we have pictures of the wedding. Overall, the interviews were quick and I guess it is true that me being there influenced the speedy interview. As they didn't ask to see other chat records other than the ones I submitted, or phone records. The NBI was the only kicker that delayed our process..but they told us we didn't have to come back and that they will release the VISA as soon as they get the corrected NBI.
Dec. 16 2011 Embassy receives corrected NBI.
Dec. 23 2011 Visa was issued and printed.

Embassy Review : |
I think like any other government ran offices, waiting comes with the territory. the process at the US embassy reminds me of DMV or the social security office. Sit and wait for your number to be called, but the people were pleasant and the consulates were nice. I wish we didn't have to go through so many windows I think it was a total of 5 which included two interviews. I think overall the embassy was not that bad at all. I would have gave it a 5 but the uncertainty on when the visa will be available was up in the air and I wished someone contacted us about her NBI needing an AKA for miss spelled name on her birth certificate prior to reaching the consulate but I cant complain. That might be more of an NVC process. AS the embassy goes everyone is trying to get a visa and they get flooded with paper work and have determine a lot of factors which is not easy so overall I give the a four because the people that interviewed me and my wife were very friendly to us. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
