Consulate Review: Egypt
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : October 17, 2011
Embassy Review : We got approved . The interview was pretty simple. We got their at 6:10 am, and waited for them to open. We ended up being the first ones in line for immigrant visas. They called us for our interview at around 8:45. The lady interviewing us was presumably a Hawaiian woman. The woman said "Good Morning" then she asked " Where did you two meet?" Then my husband, and I told her the story of how we met and how he came to visit me several times. Then she asked why we got married in Reno, NV, and if we lived there. There was at one time where she didn't say anything, and just started typing some things for quiet a few minutes, which made us really nervous, and then she took some of our papers to someone else, and asked her something. She then asked my husband "Are you finished with your college in the US now?" "Are you both the same age?" we answered we are 4 years apart, he is 26, and I am 22. "Where do you both live?" we answered that we both lived in Cairo together. Then she told us that we were approved but they needed to put us in administrative processing which could take around 3 to 4 weeks average. Then we asked her a ton of questions because my husbands medical check that took 2 months to get the results expires on November 21st. Then she told us that it is a possibility that we could get it back before 3 to 4 weeks, and it sometimes only takes a week or two. She then started joking with me a little, and then we told her thank you, and left.
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
