Consulate Review: Montreal, Canada
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : July 12, 2012
Embassy Review : My experience was like almost every other review on here.

I got to the consulate at 6am (since I couldn't sleep) and was first in line. The guard came out at 730am and I was in the elevator at 8am. I got C1 and waited 5 minutes until I went to window 1. I had everything in order so that only took 5 minutes. I then waited 10 minutes to go to window 7 where I took an oath and the CO verified my finger prints. She asked me three questions :

How did you meet your husband?

Where does your husband live?

What does your husband do for work?

She then grabbed a letter out of a drawer that said WELCOME TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

I was out by 845am.

Side note - They did not ask me for copies of anything. The first lady said she had copies already. I was asked for my marriage certificate and birth certificate (which were given back), my passport, two passport photos, my police certificate and original I-864.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
