Consulate Review: Montreal, Canada
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 31, 2011
Embassy Review : Well, it's done and approved!!!
Today I had my CR1 interview in Montreal.
I showed up at the consulate at around 7:10 and there were already about 5 ppl in front of me. At 7:30 they opened the doors to start security (note: bring as little as possible, no fluids, phones etc), after security, we were sent downstairs into a waiting room. There is a photo booth in case you forgot to bring yours (also, they ask for a 2x2 picture, but a standard size passport picture is fine also). After about 15min of waiting in that room with about 30 others, a security guard came and asked for people applying for immigration visas to follow him into the elevator. The elevator went upstairs to a main room. Once there, we were asked to stand in a line and they would give us a number, and we would sit down in the middle of the room and wait for our number to be called. The first time I was called (10 min from sitting down), it was for finger prints and giving them my pictures, birth cert., marriage cert. then I was asked to sit back down in the main room. The next time I was called up (5 min later), I was asked to supply my I-864 with supporting documents, as well as my DS-230. Then I was asked to sit back down again, but this time I waited for about 40min before being called up again. When I got to the last booth, the lady asked me to take an oath, and also asked me a few questions... What my husband did, where he was, how we met and when, and how did he propose. After that, she said "Welcome to the USA!!"
WOOHOOOO!!!
I arrived at 7:10 and was out by 10am!! Wonderful! Now to wait for my passport. The letter given to me, states the wait is 2 weeks from now (lets hope it gets here sooner!!)

I had an amazing experience, and met some amazing girls. It was a fabulous day!
Rating : Very Good
